Community Health Councils (CHCs) were set
up in 1974 to monitor the National Health
Service, recommend improvements to local
Health Authorities and represent to interests of
service users.

There are 4 CHCs in Birmingham; East
Birmingham CHC covers Hodge Hill,
Washwood Heath, Shard End, Nechells, Yardley,
Small Heath, Sheldon and Acock's Green. Links

Office hours are 9.15 – 3pm, Monday to Friday. An ansaphone system operates
outside these hours. Personal callers to the office are strongly advised to
telephone for an appointment, as meetings and visits mean that staff are not always
in the office.
